Family Therapy
Supporting families to navigate change, resolve conflict, and reconnect with what matters most.
How I Can Help
All families want to communicate better and feel more connected, part of a shared story and heritage. Yet many find themselves stuck in patterns of misunderstanding and tension that never quite resolve despite everyone’s best efforts.
Different generations, strong personalities, and the life challenges can place families under real strain. And when conflict becomes entrenched, it can feel impossible to find a way through alone. With the right support, that can change.
With training in mediation and relationship therapy, Elizabeth guides your family through a thoughtful process that builds understanding, restores hope, and explores solutions that work for everyone.
She offers practical, evidence-based tools to help your family build its strengths, communicate more openly, understand each other’s perspectives, and find constructive ways forward, together. She works with all family members to create a safe, confidential, and respectful space where everyone is heard fairly.
Comprehensive Assessment Process
Before recommending the best approach for your family, Elizabeth begins with a thorough assessment. Each family member attends a separate, confidential session to share their perspective on the contributing issues, family background, and their hopes and goals for change. These initial conversations offer each person a relaxed, non-judgemental space to reflect on how family relationships are functioning now, and what has led to this point.
From there, Elizabeth will recommend the most appropriate pathway to help your family move forward. These include coaching, facilitated conversation, or mediation.
Family Conflict Coaching
Sometimes the most powerful change begins with one person. If you want to initiate positive change in troubled family relationships, but others aren’t yet ready to participate, coaching supports you to gain clarity about what is driving the problems, deepen your understanding of others’ perspectives and needs, and increase your ability to respond assertively and constructively.
- Understand the dynamics and patterns contributing to family conflict
- Clarify your own role and responsibilities within the family system
- Develop more assertive, confident responses in difficult conversations
Learn how your positive actions can create a meaningful ripple effect for others — often with surprising results.
Facilitated Family Conversations
- Ensure everyone is heard respectfully and create the conditions for new and lasting solutions to emerge.
- Explore particular events and dynamics in depth, revealing what really matters to each person
- Build mutual understanding and shared insight across the family.
- Increase each family member’s influence and contribution toward positive resolution
- Work systematically and collaboratively toward practical, goal-oriented solutions to longstanding problems
